The small class size offers the student opportunities for one-on-one instruction from our instructor, Eric Sandilands.

TESTIMONIAL:
Building the Acorn Tender was an incredibly enjoyable and intensely interesting exercise in traditional boat building. The instructor, Eric Sandilands, is not only an accomplished shipwright but also a very capable instructor. The hands-on approach used in the class offered by the Cowichan Wooden Boat Society resulted in a wonderful learning experience, not only in traditional boat-building techniques but also served to develop useful and practical skills with tools that I have been able to subsequently apply to other construction projects. I particularly appreciated the time he took to address my individual interest in alternative boat building techniques by offering a primer on working with plywood and epoxy. I consider the event it the highlight of my summer.
