Location: Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre & Bay Area

This event is taking place on the unceded territories of the Quw'utsun People and Hul’qumi’num-speaking people who have lived for thousands of years in the Cowichan Valley. As we participate in and host this event we require the utmost respect for the land, nature, and its people.

Join us for a day of creativity and sight seeing in the beautiful Cowichan Bay harbour. Artists and spectators alike are encouraged to learn about our unique history and explore several important landmarks throughout the bay.

Three Age Categories: Orcas (18 & up), Seals (10-18), & Kingfishers (under 10)

  • Please meet outside of the Maritime Centre to Sign in and organize your location. As parking space is limited, please be mindful of accessibility to shops, other vehicles, and sidewalks. An early start is recommended.

  • Primed and stretched canvas or 8” by 10” watercolor sheets will be provided by the centre.

  • Artists must supply their own artmaking materials ( paint, paint brushes, or other materials they would like to use)

  • By 4:00 pm Saturday: Return your masterpieces to the centre to be registered and put on display.

  • Spectators and artists can vote for their favourites in each category before 3:30pm on Sunday, Aug. 29th. At 4:00pm we will announce the winners and they will receive some fun prizes!

  • Please pick up paintings by Sept. 5th, work on display in the centre until then.
