At the Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre, we proudly operate a fleet of small wooden rowing and sailing vessels, available exclusively to our members. As a member, you ga access to these charming boats, which are included in your membership fee. Whether you're an avid sailor or a leisurely rower we welcome you to take out a boat for an adventure in Cowichan Bay

Our Fleet Includes:
The Acorn: A one-person rowing dinghy with room for up to 3-4 passengers. Perfect for solo rowers a pair or a parent and couple kiddos.
The Peapod: A versatile two-person rowing dinghy that can accommodate 5-6 passengers. Ideal for both relaxing trips and group explorations. (Currently out of the water for restoration)
The Whitehall: A classic two-person rowing dinghy with space for 5-6 passengers.
The Chatham’s Cutter: A beautifully crafted replica of the Zachary Mudge, a vessel from Captain Vancouver’s crew. This eight-person rower, with the option to sail, can accommodate up to 12 passengers. Join our Cutter rowing group and experience the camaraderie and excitement of team rowing.
How to Use Our Boats:
To take one of our boats out on the water, simply visit our reception to sign out a dinghy. Our staff will assist you with the process and ensure you have everything you need for a great time on the water.
Your first time taking out a boat there is a waiver to fill out - we keep it on file so it is not an onerous process of paperwork before each outing. We have all the transport canada required gear in each boat, lifejackets to borrow. We ask members bring a cell phone and leave a contact number before heading out.
